Botanical Garden St. Gallen

St. Gallen, CH

From 01/06/2026 to 29/09/2026

The Swiss Botanical Garden St. Gallen in the district of Stephanshorn is home to around 8,000 plant species from all over the world on an area of 2 hectares. In addition to the tropical house with rainforest plants, succulents and orchids, the architecturally remarkable alpine house is also a special feature.

Corresponding to the exhibition theme of “Walk through time…”, the Botanical Garden is also the starting point of the St. Gallen Planet Trail (external page), which was established in 1979 and leads from here to Obersteinach at Lake Constance. The starting point of this 8 km long themed hiking trail is the model of the sun next to the Tropical House.

Also adjacent to the Garden, is the Natural History Museum, with a fascinating exhibition on the biodiversity, geology and history of the region.
